A scam text about voter registration is going around, and several area residents report having received it. The scam text claims you’re not registered to vote, even if you are.  The text says you’re not in their voting records and unregistered and then links to a scam website.

The text will often read: “We have you in our records as not registered to vote. Check your registration status and register to vote in 2 minutes…” and then provide a bogus voter registration website.  Do not click on the link to those sites.  Scammers are using the texts to gain valuable personal information.
