The new Waffle House is opening on Highway 27 in Summerville at 7 AM today.  The iconic, Southern eatery is known for it’s famous waffles and breakfast foods. A ribbon cutting is being planned by the Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce and Summerville Main Street at noon today.

The new Waffle House in Summerville came to light last February when the company applied for planning approval in Chattooga County.  Waffle House, Inc. purchased two parcels of land north of Taco Bell on Highway 27 to build the new restaurant.

A year later, the restaurant is ready to open.  A lot of people noticed activity at the site last week and thought that the restaurant had a “soft opening”.  However, the people seen at the location were new employees who were undergoing training.

Waffle House, Inc. operates over 1900 stores, mostly in the South and is based out of Norcross, Georgia.
