A pharmacy technician at Walgreen’s in Rome, Whitney Leann Dutton, age 22 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she stole hydrocodone pills. 

Reports indicate that during questioning Dutton told officers that over a period of time she took a number of pills including Percocet, Tramadol and Oxycodone.

Reports added that Dutton told officers that she was "under pressure from her parents who were in pain and could not get prescriptions for their back pain." She added she was also in pain and was unable to get medication - and - as a result "abused her occupation by stealing medication."

Dutton was charged with theft by taking possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
