Walker County's Animal shelter reopened Wednesday after a two week closure for a Parvo quarantine. The reopening was allowed after no new cases of Parvo were found in the dog population at the  shelter. Inspectors from the state were called in and found sanltation practices at the shelter to be adequate. The problem reportedly started with an infected animal was brought into the shelter and the highly contagious virus spread quickly. Shelter employees have sanitized the shelter during the quarantine period. The Walker County Shelter is located on Marbletop Road.
