An eighty-year-old Walker County Sheriff’s Deputy, assigned to duty at the courthouse, was denied bond this week in his first appearance before a judge in Walker County after he was accused of raping a woman while he was in uniform.

The victim contacted the LaFayette Police Department about the allegations and LaFayette Police requested an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.  This week, the GBI arrested Jerry Glover of Rock Spring.

The GBI says that their investigation  revealed that Glover had sex with a woman without her consent while on duty. Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said Glover was fired last Friday.

Glover was denied bond at his first appearance hearing and will appear in Walker County Superior Court on June 9th for a bond hearing.

Anyone with information for the investigation is asked to contact the GBI at 706-624-1424.
