Funeral arrangements have been set for a Walker County Deputy that passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday of this week.

Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said that Corporal Chris Dye had been working at the Walker County Sheriff’s Office since July of 2015.  Dye was a veteran, having served twelve years in the military – including a tour in Iraq.

The unexpected loss was especially hard for Sheriff Wilson who had known Dye since he was a child.  Wilson and Dye’s father worked together at the LaFayetee Police Department in the 1980’s.

Funeral services for Corporal Dye are set for next Tuesday at Wilson & Sons Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe.
