
A twenty-eight-year-old LaFayette man who already had felony warrants for shoplifting in Chattooga County, was caught shortly after he shoplifted again at Wal-Mart in Trion on December 29th. Lee Tumblin was seen leaving the store without paying for items in his possession. His friend, Dillion Stone Williams, also 28 of Rock Spring, was also arrested after the latest shoplifting incident.
Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputies heard a 911 call about a man leaving the Trion Wal-Mart without paying for items. A deputy stopped Tumblin in the parking lot and asked him about the incident. Tumblin reportedly told the deputy, “I shouldn’t have done it. I shouldn’t have taken that stuff”. While Tumblin was being questioned, another deputy stopped Williams walking out of the Garden Center. At first, Williams denied knowing Tumblin, but Wal-Mart employees identified Williams as being Tumblin’s accomplice.
Both men were charged with shoplifting and Tumblin was additionally charged with criminal trespass and felony shoplifting.
