The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the passing of a longtime deputy and local pastor.

Sgt. Terry Hambrick began his employment with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office in 1989 as a detention officer and later that same year graduated from the GA Police Academy and became a Deputy Sheriff. Terry received his DARE instruction certification in 1991 and his CHAMPS certification in 2004. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant over the Community Affairs/Public Relations Division in 2006.
Sgt. Hambrick was also the Senior Pastor of Happy Home Missionary Church in Lafayette, GA.
Funeral services will be held today at the  Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Lafayette, GA. Internment will be at the National Cemetery at a later date to be announced.
Sgt. Hambrick’s daughter, Kahleiha Hambrick is a former employee of WZQZ Radio.  WZQZ extends our condolences and prayers to the Hambrick family during this time of loss.
