Herschel Walker has pulled out of an event that was scheduled to take place in Rome on Saturday after U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke at a white nationalist rally last weekend.

WXIA in Atlanta reported on Thursday that while Walker has not publicly condemned Greene for appearing at the rally, he pulled out of the event in Rome without comment.

Greene appeared last week at an “America First Political Action Conference” in Florida.  The organization’s founder, Nick Fuentes, encouraged applause for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine at the event and the crowd cheered “Putin, Putin, Putin.”  Fuentes was reported to have said, “America is the great Satan” for exporting “transsexuals, Black Lives Matter and the gay pride flag to the world”, according to WXIA Television.

The Floyd County Republican Party posted on social media that they condemn racists speech and support inclusiveness.

Rep. Greene’s political campaign had been advertising the event on WZQZ Radio.  On Wednesday, WZQZ received an new ad that dropped Herschel Walker’s name from the list of speakers at Saturday’s event.  On Thursday, WZQZ received word to stop the ad campaign altogether and then late Friday  night, the Greene organization sent word to resume the ad campaign for Saturday’s event.
