One local woman has accused an employee of a durable medical equipment (DME) company of stealing her wallet from her kitchen table.
According to reports from the Chattooga County Sheriffs Office, Deputies met with Joyce Bean at her residence.
Bean told Deputies that she had left her wallet on the kitchen table and now she could not locate it. Bean stated that an employee of Rome Respiratory, a DME company based in Rome, Georgia, had came to her house to check her oxygen machine. After the employee left, she noticed that the wallet was missing. Calling Rome Respiratory before Officers arrived, Bean was told that they could not tell her the name of the employee and that the company did not believe the employee would have stolen it.
The wallet contained her ID, social security card, debit card and around $60 in cash.
