A Chattooga County man wanted on felony warrants for robbery and burglary was apprehended following a brief struggle at Summerville’s Trade Day on September 13th. Keshawn Gavyn Isham, 23, now faces an additional charge of Obstruction of Officers.

According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, deputies located Isham and another individual, Harley Wilson, at approximately 8:22 AM. Deputies, and Summerville Police, approached a vehicle occupied by Isham and Wilson at 12071 Highway 27, the location of Trade Day. Isham was wanted on felony warrants for Robbery and Burglary, while Wilson was sought on a separate Burglary warrant.

The report details that deputies issued strong, lawful verbal commands for Isham to show his hands and exit the vehicle. Isham reportedly attempted to put the vehicle in reverse, prompting a deputy to draw his department-issued firearm and reiterate the commands. Isham then opened the driver’s side door and put one foot out before retracting it back into the vehicle.

A deputy subsequently grabbed Isham’s left arm, escorted him out of the vehicle, and guided him to the ground. As a Summerville Police Officer attempted to place handcuffs on Isham, the suspect is described as passively resisting by tensing his left arm—which already had one handcuff applied—and ignoring lawful verbal commands to place both arms behind his back.

The officer was able to control Isham’s arm and successfully complete the handcuffing process. A subsequent search revealed no weapons or contraband on Isham’s person. Harley Wilson, who was also wanted on a burglary warrant, had already been secured by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.

Both Isham and Wilson were then transported to the Chattooga County Jail without further incident.

Isham faces felony charges of Robbery and Burglary, along with the new misdemeanor charge of Obstruction of Officers. Wilson was booked on his outstanding Burglary warrant.
