Alert law enforcement officials spotted a wanted man relaxing on a front porch of a home in north Rome.

When they approached 33 year old Brandon Rashard Thomas, he ran inside and resisted arrest.

When Thomas was taken into custody, officers saw a small quantity of marijuana and a gun.

The other occupant of the home, Clifford Whatley Thomas, claimed possession of the gun and also the marijuana; as a result he was arrested and charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Brandon Thomas was charged with felony obstruction of a law enforcement official and a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.
