After a surprise snowfall last Friday that left a dusting of snow for some, and bitterly cold temperatures Saturday and Sunday morning, we will be warming up today with highs approaching 60 degrees by Tuesday afternoon.
Rain will return to the area Wednesday as moisture surges northward from the Gulf of Mexico. Rain and a few thunderstorms are likely Thursday as well ahead of an approaching cold front. No severe thunderstorms are expected with limited instability. Our area could see up to 2 inches of rain from this system.
Much colder air returns to our area on Friday, and there could be a brief period of light sleet, freezing rain, or snow late Thursday night and Friday morning. It is still too early to tell if the winter precipitation will have much of an impact on Friday.
By this coming weekend, we will see a return to sunshine with lows below freezing and highs approaching 50 degrees.
