The Summerville Police Department took out a warrant on Trion resident Kathy Richardson for allegedly shoplifting Tide pods from the Commerce Street Dollar General.

A employee of the Dollar Genera called 9-1-1 last Thursday evening to report that Richardson, who had been seen shoplifting Tide pods from the store two days earlier, was back in the store. Richardson, who lives on Airport Rd. in Trion, had already left in a red Ford F-150 pickup truck when the SPD officer arrived, according to the Dollar General employee.

The officer was shown the security camera footage of Richardson committing the theft. Using parking lot security camera footage, he used the license plate number of Richardson’s truck to go to the Summerville address of the truck’s registered owner.

When the officer arrived, the truck’s owner said Richardson, his ex sister-in-law, had just left. The officer was given consent to search the house for Richardson, who was not found.

The warrant for Richardson’s arrest as taken out on Friday of last week. Richardson is listed in reports as a white female, 5’6″, and 125 lb.
