The Chattooga County Water District took no action on Tuesday evening on a proposal to charge a $20 or $30 fee for re-reading meters when customers disagree with their water bill.  Chattooga County Water District uses radio reads which are the most acurate form of meter reading, similar to what Georgia Power uses for power meters.

Board member Tommy O’Kelly stated that it was just part of "good customer service" to provide a re-read when a Chattooga County Water District Customer has a question about their bill.  The rest of the board agreed and took no action on the matter.

Other municipal water districts in Chattooga County charge from $20 to $30 to re-read a meter if there is no error in the orginal meter reading.
