Chattooga 9-1-1 directed Sheriff’s Office Deputies to the Highway 27 Walmart in response to a reported case of shoplifting.
Upon arrival, law enforcement met with Walmart employees, who had detained two men – identified as Caine Smith and Jacob Smith. The two were reportedly witnessed on the pet aisle, with Caine Smith standing in front of Jacob Smith as he selected and concealed an air hose – the stuffed it down the front of his pants.
Jacob Smith was then seen walking to the hardware area where he also took and concealed turtle food.
As the pair started to leave they were confronted by the Walmart loss prevent officers and escorted to the office to await the arrival of deputies; Jacob Smith was arrested and charged with shoplifting prior to be taken to the Chattooga County Jail.
