More information has been released about the arrest of the son of a man who was fatally shot earlier this week in Rome.  The charges against nineteen-year-old Derricus Ramon Whatley, Jr. came after authorities say he pulled a gun on another during an altercation at 200 South Broad Street.

Police said that Whatley discharged the gun at the victim and others on a public street.

The incident occurred just after 3pm on July 4th.

Whatley is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, discharging a firearm on the property of another, possession of a firearm during the commission of crime, pointing a firearm at another and reckless conduct.

Meanwhile, Floyd County authorities are continuing their search for twenty-year-old Stephano Green who is accused of shooting and killing forty-year-old Derricus Whatley, Sr. on Sunday.
