… WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM EST THIS EVENING FOR NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA…

A WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM EST THIS EVENING FOR NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA.

THE COMBINATION OF STRONG HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING FROM THE NORTHWEST AND LOW PRESSURE DEEPENING ALONG THE MID ATLANTIC COAST WILL RESULT IN STRONG NORTHWESTERLY WINDS ACROSS THE STATE TODAY. WINDS ACROSS NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA WILL PREVAIL AROUND 20 TO 25 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS TO NEAR 35 MPH LIKELY THROUGH MUCH OF THE DAY.

THE WINDS SHOULD RELAX BY EARLY EVENING AS THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVES FURTHER UP THE EAST COAST AND HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS TOWARD THE DEEP SOUTH.

REMEMBER… A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 35 MPH OR WIND GUSTS OF AT LEAST 35 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT… ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
