Aviation enthusiasts can now secure their tickets for the highly anticipated 2025 Wings Over North Georgia (WONG) Air Show, returning to the Russell Regional Airport in Rome, Georgia, from October 17-19, 2025. Voted twice as one of USA Today’s top 10 fan favorite air shows in the world, the award-winning event promises a spectacular three-day experience.

The 2025 show, marking WONG’s 11th performance and its first since 2021, is set to deliver an expanded schedule of aerial thrills, culminating in headline performances by the world-famous U.S. Navy Blue Angels on Saturday and Sunday.

Expanded Three-Day Extravaganza Kicks Off Friday

In an exciting new addition, the 2025 air show will now span three days, launching with a special Friday evening show on October 17. Gates will open at 2 p.m., offering an early-bird opportunity for attendees to witness the Blue Angels’ final practice before their weekend appearances.

Friday’s festivities will also feature a live concert by Atlanta country artist Kurt Thomas, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Thomas, known for winning the Kenny Chesney “Next Big Star” contest, has opened for numerous country music luminaries including Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, LeAnn Rimes, and Zac Brown.

As twilight descends, Friday will transition into breathtaking aviation performances under the evening sky, followed by a first-time drone show and an unforgettable fireworks extravaganza to cap off the night.

World-Class Performers Fill the Skies All Weekend

The full lineup of performers will take to the skies for thrilling aerial demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday. Leading the charge, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will be accompanied by “Fat Albert,” the U.S. Marine Corps C-130 transport aircraft, known for its unique flight demonstration.

Vintage aircraft enthusiasts will also be treated to living history with demonstrations by Jim Tobul in the F4U Corsair, Scott “Scooter” Yoak in the P-51 Mustang, and Jerry “Jive” Kirby in the T-28 Trojan. The Ladies of Liberty singing group will perform throughout the weekend, adding to the patriotic atmosphere.

“We held our first event in 2012, and each year we have incorporated improvements and enhancements to continue to offer one of the top air show experiences in the U.S.,” said John Cowman, president of JLC AirShow Management, the Rome, GA-based organizer.

Static ground displays and pre-show demonstrations will commence at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with the main aerial performances scheduled to begin at noon each day.
