… WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 AM EST FRIDAY…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PEACHTREE CITY HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR LIGHT SNOW… WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 AM EST FRIDAY FOR THOSE AREAS GENERALLY ALONG AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM SUMMERVILLE TO DAWSONVILLE TO CLEVELAND.

A QUICK MOVING STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS NORTH GEORGIA TONIGHT. LIGHT RAIN WILL BEGIN LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY THIS EVENING ACROSS EXTREME NORTH GEORGIA. THE RAIN WILL CHANGE OVER TO LIGHT SNOW THIS EVENING AND CONTINUE THROUGH THE NIGHT. ACCUMULATIONS OF A HALF INCH TO AN INCH WILL BE WIDESPREAD ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA. THE LIGHT SNOW WILL END BY DAYBREAK FRIDAY MORNING.

MUCH COLDER AIR WILL BE SPREADING INTO THE ADVISORY AREA AFTER MIDNIGHT. TEMPERATURES WILL DROP INTO THE MID AND UPPER 20S AFTER MIDNIGHT. ANY LIQUID WATER ON ROADS WILL FREEZE CAUSING PATCHES OF BLACK ICE TO FORM TONIGHT.

PEOPLE TRAVELING ACROSS NORTH GEORGIA TONIGHT SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR SLICK ROADS DUE TO THE LIGHT SNOW AND BLACK ICE.
