According to a report recently released by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, a fifty-four-year-old Summerville woman was arrested at a local motel on the last day of January after another woman accused her of sexually assaulting her inside a motel room.

The victim told a responding deputy that Betty Jean Gardner Blue came to the motel room where the victim and her husband were staying and asked to borrow some bleach.  The victim then went to the alleged assailant’s room and had a brief conversation.  A short time later, the alleged assailant returned to the motel room where the victim and her husband were staying and began turning off lights and shutting the curtains and then said that she, along with the victim and her husband were going to have intimate relations.

The assailant then allegedly forcibly removed the victim’s shirt and began to sexually assault her, when the victim’s husband came into the room and ordered the assailant out.

Betty Jean Gardner Blue was arrested and taken to the Chattooga County Jail and was charged with misdemeanor sexual battery.
