
A Trion woman was arrested for the second time within a month for calling an ambulance when one was not needed.
According to an incident report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, sixty-eight-year-old Annie Lou Fowler of a Rose Circle address was arrested on Friday of last week after making the call to Chattooga 911 for EMS to transport her to the hospital.
Georgia law says that it is a misdemeanor crime to call an ambulance and request transport when it is not reasonably needed. The offense is punishable by a fine of up to $1000 per offence.
The responding deputy noted in the report, that Fowler had been charged with the same offense on May 17, 2023.
