A forty-two-year-old Summerville woman was arrested over the weekend for public intoxication after she caused a scene at a nearby residence.  Summerville Police responded to a call about a woman doing damage on a man’s porch.  When police arrived and spoke with the complainant, he said that the woman had been beating objects stored on his front porch and that she took off down a foot-trail before officers arrived.  Police located the woman who said that she had thrown a chair, but she hadn’t been beating anything on the man’s porch.  The woman said she was mad because the man invited her over and when she arrived, another woman was there.  Police noticed that the woman appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and noticed the smell of marijuana.  The woman consented to a search of her backpack and officers found a quarter-pint of suspected alcohol and a suspected partially-smoked joint.  Marlisha Annette Woods was arrested on charges of public intoxication and booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
