A Trion woman was arrested for “skip-scanning” at Walmart last week, according to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.
A Walmart loss prevention officer contacted the sheriff’s office after a woman was seen scanning only a portion of the items that she was putting in her buggy. When a responding deputy arrived, the loss prevention officer showed the deputy video footage of the woman skip-scanning the items. The officer asked the woman for her receipt, which showed she had not paid for all of the items in her buggy.
Thirty-five-year-old Jacinta Mateo of Trion was arrested on shoplifting charges and booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
