A routine welfare check at an Armuchee-area Waffle House on Monday morning escalated into a drug arrest when officers discovered methamphetamine inside a woman’s wallet.
According to Floyd County Jail records, 32-year-old Andrea Kay Pritchett was taken into custody following the incident at the Waffle House located at 2903 Martha Berry Highway.
Reports indicate that officers responded to the restaurant after receiving a call for a welfare check. Upon arrival, they found Pritchett asleep in her vehicle.
Police reports state that Pritchett consented to a search of her car. During the search, officers located a small bag of methamphetamine inside her wallet. Pritchett reportedly admitted the substance was meth and claimed ownership.
Andrea Kay Pritchett is formally charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and was booked into the Floyd County Jail.
