Chattooga County Sheriff’s deputies recently responded to a call at Walmart in Trion concerning a woman who had fallen and hit her head. Walmart employees believed the woman to be under the influence of drugs. On the scene, deputies talked to witnesses who said that they had seen the woman ingesting computer keyboard cleaner before taking the fall. Deputies found that the woman had a syringe with liquid, later determined to be fentanyl, wrapped in tinfoil inside a t-shirt. Forty-two-year-old Laura Payne Henson was taken to the Chattooga County Emergency Department next to Walmart and was then arrested and charged with theft by shoplifting and possession of schedule II drugs.
