A fifty-four-year-old Summerville woman was jailed on Sunday after she was abusive towards EMT personnel on three separate occasions.
Police say that EMT workers called police at 6:22 PM after the woman was swinging at the workers while she was in the back of an ambulance parked at her residence on Wildlife Lake Road. The woman was not transported to the hospital, but called again for an ambulance at 11:23 PM. This time, the woman refused to put her pants on and was being verbally abusive towards EMT workers. Rather than put her pants on, the woman decided not to go to the hospital.
Twenty minutes later at 11:43 PM, EMT and Summerville Police responded to the woman’s house again. Again, the woman became verbally abusive towards the EMT workers and said she didn’t want to go to the hospital. Instead, police arrested her and took her to the Chattooga County Jail.
Adriana Venable was charged with requesting an ambulance when it was not reasonably needed.
