On Wednesday of this week, Summerville Police responded to a call from a fifty-seven-year-old Summerville woman who said she had paid another person to go to the grocery store for her, and the person never returned with her groceries.
The complainant said that she had given another woman $20 and her EBT card to go to the store for her. The complainant said that she never heard back from the woman who was sent to get the groceries. The complainant said that the phone number the other woman had given her before she left to go to Ingles Supermarket was not a working number. The complainant said that she cancelled the EBT card, but was not sure if the other woman used it.
Police advised the woman to check and see if the card had been used and told her that a report would be filed about the incident.
