Family loyalty apparently went straight out the window, when a young woman thought she was about to be busted for shoplifting.

Police reports 29 year old Sabrina Renee Bolton, was suspected of taking items from Family Dollar on South Main Street in Lafayette, when she suddenly bolted and drove away leaving behind both her mother and her daughter.

She was later found hiding inside a closet in the family home, which was located nearby.

The woman's mother said her daughter had been staying at the residence during the Spring Break holiday period.

When police arrived at the home with family members they found the front door locked.

The suspect's daughter helped officers by climbing through a window to let them in, maybe as payback for being ditched earlier.

Items taken from the Family Dollar were recovered in the home and returned to the store.
