Chattooga County deputies were called to a residence on Oak Grove Road in Summerville over the past weekend after a woman reported that her debit card had been stolen.
The complainant told a responding deputy that she had been in the hospital for about a week and when she returned home, she found that her debit card had been stolen from a safe located inside her residence. She believes that her son entered her residence while she was away and stole the debit card.
The complainant called the issuing bank and put a stop on the card. She also told the responding deputy that she would get a list of the charges that were made on the card and bring them by to show an investigator.
The case is still under investigation.
