A forty-one-year-old woman was arrested on DUI charges after she told a deputy that she had taken a “moon rock” because she “needed to go to the moon”.
According to a report released this week by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, last Tuesday, a call came in about a woman who was passed out in a vehicle at a gas station in Gore. While a deputy was en route, another report came in that the woman was driving down the Gore-Subligna Road and was driving “all over the road”.
A deputy stopped Jillian Ann Durgin, who told the deputy that she had been at the store but had not been passed out, and that she was trying to get to her family’s house to have dinner. The deputy could tell the driver was under the influence of some sort of drug and asked the woman if she had taken anything. The woman replied that she had taken a prescription drug and a “moon rock”. Moon rocks are usually made by taking a nugget of marijuana and dipping it in or spraying it with concentrate, or hash oil.
Durgin failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence.
