On Monday, a woman reported her car was stolen from the parking lot of the Barn Dance in Menlo.

According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, Tessa Collett told a responding deputy that her car had overheated and she left it at the Barn Dance to go get some coolant.  While she was gone with a friend to get the coolant, she stopped and played some “ding-ding” machines, for about an hour before returning to the Barn Dance.  When she got back, her vehicle was gone.

Collett told police that her pocketbook with around $200 along with her work clothes were in the vehicle.  The deputy checked with local towing companies to see if anyone had towed the vehicle.

No one reported having towed the 2015 Chrysler 200.  The incident has been turned over to an investigator.
