Work continues cleaning Town Creek in Summerville.  The work began the last week of July and already workers have cleared about 20 dump truck loads of dirt and debris from the creek.  The work is being done to help alleviate flooding problems that have plagued downtown Summerville.  In addition to the cleaning of the creek, eleven culverts were identified as problem areas along the waterway that starts at Cleghorn Spring at Willow Tree Park and makes its way to the Chattooga River.  Summerville officials say that they are working with private landowners to obtain permits along the rest of the creek to continue the cleaning of the creek.
