Rain and muddy conditions have slowed outside work at the new Menlo Elementary School, but Chattooga County School Supt. Jared Hosmer says inside work at the new facility is progressing.  Workers are installing wiring and plan to have the building’s heating and cooling systems installed in the near future.  That will allow for the installation of flooring, which requires acclamation before installation.  The building is located directly behind the current school facilities, parts of which date back over 80 years.  Plans are to be able to move into the new facility sometime this spring or early summer.  Work on the new school facility began in October of 2021.
