Election 2022 in Chattooga County – only one local contested race was on the ballot.  Republican Lori Brady defeated incumbent Democrat Lynn Hall for a seat on the Chattooga County Board of Education to represent the Menlo area.  You can see complete election numbers below:

7:20 PM – Results are in from the Town of Trion regarding the liquor by the drink referendum.  The Town of Trion is reporting there were at total of 162 votes.  119 voted yes and 42 voted no.  There was one ballot that with no vote.  The liquor by the drink referendum has passed in the Town of Trion.

7:40 PM – Early vote totals are in for Chattooga County.  In the Chattooga County Board of Education Race for Seat 3 (the Menlo District) incumbent Democrat Lynn Hall received 1,071 votes to challenger Republican Lori Brady’s 2,489 votes.  We are still waiting for more precinct reports to come in.

8:15 PM – We are still waiting on other precincts to come in.  We are being told the Absentee Ballot count will be next. The Georgia News Network is reporting that the governor’s race between Incumbent Republican Brian Kemp and Democrat Stacy Abrams and the U.S. Senate race between Incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock and challenger Herschel Walker are too close to call with early returns coming in statewide.

9:05 PM – Summerville, Alpine and Dirttown Precincts are now in.  In the BOE race for Seat 3, Republican Lori Brady still holds a commanding lead with 3815 votes to Lynn Halls 1721 votes. (We had an incorrect total reported earlier.  We apologize for that mistake).

9:23 PM – We are still waiting on 3 more precincts to come in for local elections.  In statewide races, at this time Governor Brian Kemp has a 51% to 48% lead over Democrat Stacy Abrams.  In the U.S. Senate race, incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock has 52% of the vote to Herschel Walker’s 47%.  In the 14th Congressional District Race, Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Incumbent) has 65% lead over Democrat Marcus Flowers’ 35%.

10:25 PM- Final numbers are now in – Republican Lori Brady received 4937 votes to Lynn Hall’s 2,098 votes and will be the new school board member representing Menlo on the Chattooga County Board of education.
