The Chattooga County Chapter of the Georgia Young Farmers played host to around 400 farmers and agricultural producers from across the state this weekend.  On Friday evening the group was treated to a steak dinner at Reynolds Barn on Sloppy Floyd Lake Road in Summerville.

Saturday the group toured JP Smith Lumber Company in Menlo then headed to Lookout Mountain and visted the farm operations of Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry as well as the internationally known cattle genetics company, GENEX.

The tour concluded with lunch at Randy Owen’s cattle sale barn located on his farm, Tennessee River Music, Inc.  One Young Farmer told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio that the group was one of the largest that he had ever seen on a Young Farmers tour.
