Alabama Drug Bust

43 year old Rodney Van Gains and 38 year old David Lee Smith have been arrested by Cherokee County officers in connection with a methamphetamine operation at a home in the southern end of Cherokee County. The suspects were charged with manufacturing and possession of a controlled substance. Agents recovered numerous ingredients used to make methamphetamines along with a quantity of crack cocaine at the residence on county road 31, which is probably closer to Piedmont than Centre. When agents first arrived at the site, no on was at home, so officers waited on the scene for a short time until Gains and Smith showed up. They gave consent to search the home and a vehicle and it wasn’t long until the two men were on their way to jail.
