Trion City Schools are Canceled for Thursday
North Georgia EMC customer lobbies and drive-thrus on delayed opening schedule for Thursday, Feb 26
Due to the winter weather in the seven county service territory of NGEMC, which includes Catoosa, Chattooga, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Walker, and Whitfield counties, NGEMC customer lobbies and drive thrus will operate on a delayed schedule for Thursday, February 26, opening at 10am.
Service disconnections will be suspended during this weather event. Members may view current outage information or make payments atwww.ngemc.com. Outages can be reported via the NGEMC mobile app or by calling one of NGEMC’s local offices 24/7.
Line crews and other operational personnel are on standby and prepared to immediately respond to outages as quickly and safely as possible.
The Town of Trion administration and recreation facilities are now closed due to winter weather. Please check local news sources tomorrow morning for hours of operation on Thursday. If you have an emergency, please call 911. Thank You

Chattooga Farm Bureau is closing at 3:30 PM this (Wednesday) afternoon. They will update their opening time for Thursday based on weather conditions.

Mrs. Alice Faye Bowman, age 66, of Menlo, GA, died Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Bowman was born August 20, 1948, in LaFayette, GA, daughter of the late Charles Wilburn "Jack" and Grace Leona Caheely. She was a member of the Menlo Presbyterian Church. She worked as an L.P.N. for 35 years, showing her patients the same love and attention as she did her family, even working while she was bound to a wheelchair. She became family to countless numbers of people who had no one. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Bowman, Sr., and a son, Neil Bowman, Jr.
Mrs. Bowman is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Shanne and Yogi Hegwood, Donna Dyer and Greg Koonce, Jackie Ezell; surrogate daughters, Brandy Wyatt and Kelli Green; brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Pam Caheely; grandchildren, Nathan Hegwood, Natalie Hegwood, Nicole and Jake Morrison, Corey and Haley Dyer, Gabby Dyer, April and Jeff Phillips, Chris and Lisa Bowman, Kim and Danny Stimpson, Dewayne and Misty Chamlee, Lily Grace Green, and Matthew Martin; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Dyer, Zion Morrison, and several more great-grandchildren; and special relative and lifelong friend, Henry Covington.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bowman will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 28, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chris Bowman, Tyler Blalock, Dewayne Chamlee, Joe Dodd, Lew Green, and Matthew Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Pruitt Healthcare.
Mrs. Bowman will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday, February 27, 2015.
Mason Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Alice Faye Bowman who died on Tuesday.
