The Town of Trion Business Office, Maintenance, Gas, and Recreation Departments will be closed on Friday, April 15, 2022 for Good Friday Easter Holiday. Garbage normally picked up on Friday will be picked up on Thursday, April 14, 2022. All other days will be on regular schedule. For any emergency calls for the Gas or the Trion Police Department, please get in touch with Emergency 911 and they will contact the proper person.
The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) is observing National Work Zone Awareness Week April 11 – 15. This year’s theme is “Work Zones are a Sign to Slow Down”. Each spring Georgia DOT and other departments of transportation across the country observe National Work Zone Awareness Week to educate motorists about the dangers of work zones and to remind drivers to plan, minimize distractions and slow down when driving through work zones.
Mr. Robert Lewis (Bob) Reynolds, age 92, of Lyerly, GA, passed away peacefully April 9, 2022 at Wellspring Hospice in Marietta, GA after a brief illness.

The Chattooga High School Tribe Anglers dominated at the fourth tournament on their Mountain Valley Youth Anglers Tournament Trail. The fishing event was held on Saturday at Weiss Lake in Cherokee County, Alabama out of Yellow Creek Fish Camp.
An undercover LaFayette Police Officer was contacted on social media with a query about buying illegal drugs. The suspected drug dealer, along with the person who drove him to meet with the undercover officer were both arrested.
