Summerville Police responded to an accident on Senior Drive on Thursday of last week. According to the report released by the police department, a truck driver for AAA Cooper was making a delivery when the top of his trailer came in contact with some power lines. The driver, identified as Enrique Hernandez of Ringgold, told the responding officer that he has made deliveries on Senior Drive before and never had an issue with clearing the power lines. The accident caused minor damage to the trailer, but no one was injured.
A Chattooga County woman reported a case of identity theft to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office last week. The woman said that someone had filed taxes using her personal information.
Summerville Police responded to a call on Voxie Drive last week after a woman reported damage to her mailbox. According to the report from the police department, the complainant said that she saw a tractor in the neighborhood that was working with a downed tree. The woman assumed it was city workers and didn’t pay much attention until later when she noticed that the tractor had damaged her mailbox and the mailboxes of some of her neighbors. The responding officer discovered that the tree had fallen, but determined that it was not city workers that had cleaned up the downed tree. As of last Friday, the police department had not been able to locate who was on the tractor or exactly what caused the damage to the mailboxes.
