Mr. Raymond Doug Gentry, Incomplete (M)

Mr. Raymond Doug Gentry, age 75, of Centre, AL, died Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Cherokee Health and Rehab.

Rome School Board Holds Meeting On School Safety

Get Ready For Blue Ribbon Entries For The Fair

One of the favorite events at the Chattooga County Agricultural Fair is the annual Blue Ribbon Department entries.  Residents from Chattooga and surrounding counties are invited to bring in their home-canned goods, produce, horticulture, art and photography for judging and all of the entries are displayed inside the air-conditioned Chattooga County Ag Building during the fair.  Rules for the 2022 Blue Ribbon Department are now available.  You can find out more information on the fair’s website at www.chattoogainfo.com or stop by the Chattooga County Extension Office located at the Ag Building, just off Highway 100 on Middle School Drive in Summerville.

Summerville City Council Meeting Tomorrow

The City of Summerville will hold their regular monthly meeting for the month of August coming up tomorrow evening at Summerville City Hall.  The council will be hearing from some residents in the Armuchee area who are requesting gas line expansion by the City of Summerville Gas Department.  Also, council members will be considering a mobile home request by Ray Caldwell for 1022 Martin Street in Summerville.  In December of 2021, Mr. Caldwell’s home was destroyed by a fire.  The fire was believed to have started in the kitchen area of the Caldwell residence.  Caldwell is asking permission from the Summerville City Council to place a mobile home on his property.   The public is invited to attend the Summerville City Council meeting that will be held at 5 PM at the council meeting room at Summerville City Hall.
