Mr. Aaron Odis “Woody” Wood, age 82, of Lyerly, GA, died Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Atrium Health Floyd.

Mr. Wood was born May 18, 1940, son of the late Willie and Ida Bonds Wood. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Harriet and Henderson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cledia Jo Mason Wood; sons, Timothy Wood and Dale Wood; sisters, Alma Patty, Naomi Mitchell; and a brother, Arnold Wood.

Survivors include his daughter, Tina (Jason) Brewster; son, Charles “Chuck” Wood; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Johnson Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Colten Smith, Donald Hatcher, Billy Bennett, Nathan Ward, Jimmy Tucker, and Roger Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will be former Employees of Harriet and Henderson Card Room and the members of Chattooga Fire Department.

Mr. Wood will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service hour Wednesday.
