The GHSA has finalized its classifications and region alignments for the 2026–2028 reclassification cycle, and that locks in the football region landscape for Chattooga and Trion for the next cycle.

Chattooga Football will compete in Class AA, Region 7-AA, alongside Christian Heritage, Dade County, Fannin County, Gordon Central, Gordon Lee, and Lakeview–Fort Oglethorpe. That lineup will shape Chattooga’s region schedule, region standings, and the route to state playoff qualification once the new cycle begins.

Trion Football will compete in Class A, Region 7-A, alongside Bowdon, Greenville, Manchester, and B.E.S.T. Academy. Those matchups will make up Trion’s region race and playoff push during the 2026–28 alignment.

With the regions now official, both programs can look ahead knowing exactly which opponents will count as region games—the games that determine region championships and play a major role in playoff seeding and qualification.
