Voters across Northwest Georgia cast ballots Tuesday in the special election runoff for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District and the 53rd State Senate District, but another important election is already just ahead for Chattooga County voters.
The Chattooga County Elections and Registration Office has released sample ballots for the May 19, 2026 General Primary and Nonpartisan General Election, giving voters an early look at what will be on the ballot later this month.
According to election officials, each voter will be allowed to choose one ballot style — Nonpartisan, Democratic, or Republican — for the May 19 election. Sample ballots are also available through Georgia’s My Voter Page.
Advance voting for the upcoming election in Chattooga County will begin April 27 and continue through May 15, giving voters nearly three weeks to cast their ballots before Election Day.
The sample ballots show a full slate of major statewide races, including contests for U.S. Senate, governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general, labor commissioner, school superintendent, and other statewide offices. Voters will also see races for U.S. House District 14, State Senate District 53, Chattooga County Board of Education seats, judicial contests, and party questions depending on which ballot they choose.
With one round of voting now complete and another quickly approaching, local election officials are encouraging voters to review their ballot choices, confirm their voting information, and make plans now for advance voting or Election Day participation on May 19.
