The Trion Bulldogs continued their winning ways Friday night with a dominating 50-0 victory over the Greenville Patriots, extending their winning streak to five games and opening region play with a shutout.

Head coach Sean Patrick’s Bulldogs improved to 6-1 overall and 1-0 in Region 7-A with the victory.

Trion entered Friday night’s contest riding a four-game winning streak, having defeated Ridgeland, Dade County, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe and Northview in consecutive games.

The Bulldogs continued that momentum against Greenville, putting 50 points on the scoreboard while keeping the Patriots out of the end zone.

Friday night’s game was played under an adjusted schedule because of approaching severe weather associated with Hurricane Isaias. Kickoff was moved up twice, eventually getting underway at 6 PM instead of the originally scheduled 7:30 PM.

The victory marked Trion’s second shutout of the season. The Bulldogs previously blanked Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe 49-0 on September 18.

Trion Travels To Bowdon Next Friday

The Bulldogs will face another important region matchup next Friday, October 16, when they travel to Bowdon to take on the Red Devils.

Trion will then return home on October 23 to face Manchester.

Both local teams will be involved in important region contests next Friday as the regular season moves into its final weeks.
