Workers at the site of the new Rome Tennis Center of Georgia at Berry College discovered a theft when they arrived at work on Monday, according to a Rome police report.
The thieves did get away with some power tools but they failed in their attempt to steal a skid-steer, the report stated.
The workers told police the skid-steer got stuck at the back going out to the Armuchee Connector.
The thieves left tracks to Jones Bend Road and dropped tools along the way, the report stated.

The Chattooga County Library's Board of Trustees will hold their next quarterly meeting on Tuesday January 26th at 4:30pm.
The meeting will take place at the Summerville Library branch.
