MRS. GLADYS N. CAMPBELL, age 92, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015, evening in a Rome hospital. Mrs. Campbell was a native of Clayton, Georgia, born to the late Christopher and Martha Garrett Marcus on August 10, 1922. She was a member of Berryton Baptist Church, a homemaker, and was preceded in death by her husbands, the late Woodrow Espy and Earl A. Campbell; She was preceded in death by daughters, the late Martha Park, Kathryn McArthur, Jeannie Griffin, Jeannie Griffin, 7 Sisters, and 2 Brothers.
Survivors include daughter, Sandra Gregg of Summerville; grandchildren, Phil (Christine) Luttrell, Kathy Hannal, Melissa (Brad) Johnson, Bryant (Jessica) Park, Josh Park, Clint Agnew; special nephew & Niece, Don & Jean Nichols; special family members, Charlotte & Dannie Moseley; 16 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 22nd, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Mickey Skates and Rev. Robert Brown officiating, interment in Lyerly Cemetery, pallbearers Phil Luttrell, Andy McArthur, Bryant Park, Brad Johnson, Josh Park, and Blake Briggs. Mr. William B. Hickey, age 92, formerly of Summerville, GA, died peacefully Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, William and Connie Hickey in Elizabethtown, KY. He had lived in Marietta, GA for 37 years before returning to Summerville.
Mr. Hickey was born May 11, 1923, in Teloga, GA, the son of the late Joseph E. and Parthenia Simmons Hickey. He served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was retired from Lockheed Aircraft after 32 years, and was a member of the International Association of Machinists. Mr. Hickey was a member of the North Summerville Baptist Church and served the Lord faithfully. He was a loving father, father-in-law, brother, granddaddy, great-granddaddy, and friend to many. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hickey was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Mattie Ruth Garmony Hickey; a brother, "Jack" Hickey; 3 sisters, Frances Gilbreath, Cassie Mae Brady McNair, and Mary Jean Hickey; and a grandson, Christopher Hickey.
Mr. Hickey is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, William Duane and Connie Baugh Hickey, Elizabethtown, KY, Michael and Linda Lindsey Hickey, Douglasville, GA; 3 sisters, Gracie Hickey, Betty Jo Hickey, and Elizabeth Hickey; 4 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Hickey will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 16, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Casey Bramlett officiating. Burial will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Daniel Hickey, Derek Hickey, Chip Deaton, C. J. Deaton, Terrell Brady, Eddie Brady, and Jordan Hickey.

Mr. Albert Forrest Dew, age 89, of Armuchee, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015 at a local assisted living facility.
He was born in Floyd County, October 21, 1925, son of the late Dewitt Talmadge Dew and the late Eunice Darr Dew. He was a veteran of World War II having proudly served in the U. S. Army. As a veteran, he served under the leadership of General Patton’s 3rd Army Division in the Battles of the Rhine River and the Bulge. He was a retired employee of General Electric where he had worked as a machinist. He was a member of the Floyd Springs Baptist Church and the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Pauline Touchstone Dew and by a sister, Paulanna Harris.
Survivors include 3 sons, Danny Dew, and his wife, Janice, Richard Dew, and his wife, Lindy, and Dwayne Dew, all of Armuchee: 2 sisters, Daisy Rhinehart, and her husband, Jim, and JoElla Black, both of Rome; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015, 2pm at Floyd Springs Baptist Church with his Pastor, the Rev. Dan Hyde officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the American Legion Post # 5 Honor Guard providing full military honors.
The family will receive friends at Floyd Springs Baptist Church on Thursday, from 12:30pm until time for the service. At other hours, the family may be contacted at their respective residences

Mr. Reford James Atkins, age 66, of Dry Creek Road, Summerville, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015 at a local hospital.
He was born in Floyd County on February 16, 1949, son of the late Cecil Harvey Atkins and the late Gertha Ross Atkins. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 766/72 for 37 years and was a member of Fishers Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Atkins, by 2 sisters, Shirley Self and Yvonne Roberson, and by a granddaughter, Cassidy Gardner.
Survivors include his wife, the former Wilma Gail Kinsey, to whom he was married, July 28, 1972; a son, Christopher Atkins, and his wife, Wendy, Summerville; a daughter, Jaime Scott, and her husband, Robert, Jr., Summerville; 2 brothers, Charles Atkins, and his wife, Bridgett, Rome, and Jerry Atkins, and his wife, Myra, Adairsville; a sister, Helen Hunter, Rome; 5 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, 2 great-granddaughters, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2015, at Fishers Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Art Graves and the Rev. David Autry officiating. Interment will follow in Fishers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

MRS. ANNIE WATERS SIMPSON, age 96, of Shinbone Valley, Menlo, Georgia passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015, evening in a Rome hospital. She was born on July 21, 1918 in McGregor, Texas to the late James William and Lillie M. Long Watkins. Mrs. Simpson was retired, LPN, from Oak View Nursing & Rehab. Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Amos Simpson, a son the late Ronald Waters, and daughter the late Morene Waters.
Surviving are daughter-Donna Wright of Menlo; sons-Raymond Waters of Rockmart, David waters and Aaron Waters both of Rome; sisters-May Davis of McMinnville, TN and Ophlia Gayler of Summerville; brothers-James Watkins of Nashville, TN and Fred Watkins of Griffin; several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews also survive.

Mr. Doyle Ray Nixon, age 49, of Summerville, GA, died Thursday, June 4, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Nixon was born December 14, 1965, in Rome, GA, son of Gordon and the late Patricia Nixon. He was a truck driver, and was preceded in death by his mother.
Mr. Nixon is survived by his daughters, Tiffany Nixon, April Nixon, and Patricia Nixon; his father, Gordon Nixon; brothers, Donnie Nixon and Danny Nixon; sisters, Mandy Castrejon and Sandra Kelly; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Nixon will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 7, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Davenport officiating. Interment will follow in the AMI Cemetery. MS. JOYCE SPARKS BLACKMON, age 73, of Ringgold, Georgia formerly of Chattooga County, Georgia passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2015, in a Rome hospital. A native of Hamilton County, Tennessee, She was born to the late Howard and Gladys Harvey Morgan on September 16, 1941. She was retired from the State of Georgia Mental Health Agency, having worked with children having substance abuse difficulties for 30 years, prior to this she was a cosmetologist in Chattooga County, Georgia. Ms. Blackmon was preceded in death by a brother the late Gene Morgan.
Surviving are daughters, Teresa Darlene Lanier of Ringgold, Kathy Corbitt and Sheila Hill both of Warner Robbins; grandchildren, Jason Cash, Joseph Palmer, Eddie Helms, Ashley Blackmon, Michelle Helms, Emily Palmer; Eleven Great Grandchildren; sister, Vivian Morgan; several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 7th, at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Pastor David Smith and Mrs. Connie Witt officiating, private interment will follow.
