A man called Chattooga County officers after receiving a threatening phone call on October 28th.
The officer arrived at the Moss Drive apartments to speak with the man. He told the officer that his landlord called him and threatened him violently. The landlord wanted to fight the man behind a church and threatened to cause him bodily harm.
The man wished to file a report for possible future reference. The report was filed immediately.
One man living on McCollum Street in Trion called Chattooga County officers to report a theft on October 28th.
The man reported several tools missing. The tools included a Black and Decker jig saw, a dremal tool, a Black and Decker electric chain saw, an electric pole saw, a saw file, a saw tool, and an Old Timer knife with Schrade blades
The incident was handed over to Investigations.
On October 27th, a burglary brought a Chattooga County officer to Trion Teloga Road.
When the officer arrived at the home on Trion Teloga, he met several different people. One woman, a Mrs. Tabitha Phillips, said that the home owner gave her permission to be at the home and get a table and chairs. Mrs. Phillips showed a text message to the officer to prove this.
The home owner arrived at the home and verified that she had given Mrs. Phillips permission to get the table and chairs but not to damage the door.
The owner of the home called her landlord, who told her that the damage to the front door would be around $150.
Mrs. Phillips was placed under arrest for Criminal Trespass and taken to the Chattooga County Jail.
A Chattooga County officer was called to the Highway 27 Walmart on October 23rd in reference to a shoplifting.
One Walmart employee told the officer that she had seen a man take merchandise from the shelves and attempting to return the items for a refund. The man had taken a pack of Pampers diapers to the desk to return and then used the refund to purchase a different brand of diapers. The man also took some baby formula outside of the store without paying for it as well.
The employee and officer could not find the subject directly after the incident.
On Monday, October 20th, a Chattooga County officer spoke with a man that had become victim of a theft.
The man had left his home to take his wife to Urgent Care, and when he went to leave, he noticed the glove box was open in his car and that some of his CD's were missing. After arriving at Urgent Care, the man looked in his trunk to see if he had put his CD's in there, but only found that his amplifier and a speaker were missing.
The man was sure that he had seen the CD's and the speakers the night before noticing they were gone, but was also aware that he left his car unlocked overnight.
The man described his stolen items to the officer and the incident was turned over to Investigations.
On Friday, October 17th, a Chattooga County officer was dispatched to Highway 48 to search for a white pick up truck that had been driving with no tail lights on. The officer discovered the pick up truck at the intersection of Back Berryton Road and Filter Plant Road.
The truck began to lose control and ran off the road as the officer tried to pull the driver over. The officer found two women in the truck and asked them to tell him what happened. One woman, later identified as Heather Corey, told the officer that she had just met the man that had been driving the truck, but he had run off into the woods after the truck lost control.
More units arrived on the scene after hearing the report of an accident. After a while, the officers heard a whistle and a male voice that said that he was "giving up." The man stepped to the road and spoke with Ms. Corey and said "I love you, baby." He asked the officers if he could give Ms. Corey money to come help bail him out. The officers allowed it, so Ms. Corey took the money from him. Later, the initial officer that attempted to pull the truck over spoke with Ms. Corey. He asked Ms. Corey why she chose to lie about knowing the driver, to which she replied that she didn't want him to get in trouble.
Ms. Corey was placed under arrest for obstruction and taken to the Chattooga County Jail.
Chattooga County officers were dispatched to Oak Hill-Alpine Road due to a possible burglary.
The complainant that called 911 had remained in the car and saw that the front door of the home was open. Officers saw that the doors to the outbuildings were open, and the door to the RV trailer were open as well.
The officers went into the home and cleared the entire house room by room. No one was found, and the scene was turned over to the Investigator upon arrival.
On Monday, October 20th, a Chattooga County officer was dispatched to Mountain View Road in reference to a suspicious person.
A man later identified as Brandon Milam was standing next to a house on the road, and began running away when he saw the officer's patrol vehicle.
The officer eventually found Mr. Milam hiding in bushes along Adams Road. When asked why he ran, Mr. Milam said that he was scared and did not have anywhere to go. The officer detected a strong odor of alcohol, so he asked Mr. Milam how much he had to drink that night. Mr. Milam admitted to drinking, but said he had only had one beer. Mr. Milam was tested by breath for alcohol and blew .112.
While patting Mr. Milam down, the officer found a small plastic wrapper containing a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana. Mr. Milam told the officer that it was given to him by a friend.
Mr. Milam was arrested for the offenses of Pedestrian under the influence of alcohol and Possession of marijuana and taken to the Chattooga County Jail.
A man driving along Hair Lake Road called Chattooga County officers after finding a suspicious bag.
The man had been driving and noticed a bag beside his neighbor's driveway. When he inspected closer, he looked inside the bag and found drug-related items.
The items included scales, one pill, several plastic containers, a glass jar, a "spoon-like item," and two Crown Royal bags.
The bag and its contents were taken as evidence.
