On Friday, October 17th, a Chattooga County officer traveled to Northern Heights Circle in reference to a dog fight. 

The officer spoke with the complainant, who told him that her neighbor's pit bull attacked their wired-haired dachshund the day before. The neighbors had been compliant so far and had agreed to pay for the woman's veterinary bills, but had not gotten rid of the pit bull like they had said. 

The woman wished to file a report for future reference and planned on contacting animal control the next business day. 

On Saturday, October 18th, a reckless driver brought a Chattooga County officer to the Highway 27 Walmart parking lot. 

The driver, a Mr. Timothy Baker, told the officer that he was trying to show off his car when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a light pole behind Wendy's. Neither Mr. Baker nor his passenger were hurt in the accident.

The officer was able to confirm Mr. Baker's story by viewing the security tapes from Walmart. Mr. Baker's vehicle received damage to the passenger front tire, axle, quarter panel, and windshield.

Mr. Baker was arrested for reckless driving and taken to the Chattooga County Jail.

On October 13th, a Chattooga County officer pulled a driver over after observing a vehicle failing to maintain a single lane.

The officer identified the driver as Ms. Wendy Ash. Ms. Ash was driving her father to a doctor's appointment and when asked if she had taken any medication that day, she denied it. She was asked to step out of her car to answer questions and she complied. 

The officer searched her car and found a prescription under her name for Xanax, but she denied taking any that day. The officer then found a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue wrapped in a piece of toilet paper. Ms. Ash quickly said that she found the pipe in the back of a truck that was at her boyfriend's home.

The pipe also had a pink tint around the smoking end, and Ms. Ash was wearing pink lipstick when she was pulled over.

Ms. Ash was placed under arrest and taken to the Chattooga County Jail. 

On October 2nd, several Chattooga County officers traveled to Back Berryton Road to find a man that had a felony escape warrant.

Mr. Eric Watkins failed to return to jail after a furlough and being sentenced to prison weeks before. Officers had received tips that Mr. Watkins and his girlfriend had been living in the woods together and at the home on Back Berryton to lay low.

Officers found a two-man tent on the home's property that had a fishing pole, a gallon of water, and syringes in a coffee container nearby. 

One officer heard the door of the home shut and saw that Mr. Watkins was running towards him. Mr. Watkins changed direction quickly and jumped the fence around the property. The officer eventually caught up with him and placed handcuffs on Mr. Watkins. 

A woman came out from the home and appeared to have just woken up. Officers informed her of the situation and asked if she knew if anyone else was in the house. When she admitted that she did not know, officers went inside to investigate.

Officers found Ms. Sabrina Wilson hiding in a closet and placed her under arrest for Hindering and Obstruction of Officers. 

Mr. Christopher Edwards, who resides at the home that Mr. Watkins had been hiding, was found in one of the outbuildings and had a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue.

Mr. Edwards, Ms. Wilson, and Mr. Watkins were all taken to the Chattooga County Jail. 

On October 16th, a Chattooga County officer traveled to Railroad Circle in reference to a case of Disorderly Conduct.

One man was beating on the door, yelling, and cussing on the front porch of a woman's home. The man told the officer that the homeowner had his blanket inside the house and she would not give it to him, and that she was going to throw it in the front yard.

The woman told the officer that the man, later identified as Mr. Jeremy Crump, was asked to leave her home, but he shortly returned and began beating on the front door. The homeowner told the officer that she did not want Mr. Crump on her property or near her house.

Mr. Crump was placed into custody and transported to the Chattooga County Jail without further incident. 

Chattooga County officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct on October 15th.

Officers traveled to the Sequoyah Motel on Highway 27 to assist Redmond with their emergency services. One man was inside a room, beating on a window and could be heard yelling. Redmond personnel informed the officers that the man was drugged and intoxicated and needed help. The man, however, was very irate and screamed and cussed at them, and slammed the door on the personnel. Officers and personnel could see the man continue to drink inside the room, but the door was jammed so they could not enter.

Sheriff Mark Schrader arrived on scene shortly so that they were able to make entry into the room. Sheriff Schrader was able to convince the man to show him his ID. The man was identified as Mr. Gordon Matthew Waller. Mr. Waller tried several times to leave the room and the officials behind.

After a brief struggle, the officers were able to place Mr. Waller under arrest for Disorderly Conduct. Mr. Waller was taken to the Chattooga County Jail. 

On Sunday, October 12th, Chattooga County officers were brought to the area of Carol Drive at Memorial Drive after receiving a call about a fight.

One officer spoke with the complainant, who lived on Memorial Drive. The complainant told the officer that she had gotten into a physical alteration with the woman that lives across the street on Carol Drive. The complainant said that the woman struck her in the face.

The officers traveled across the street to the other woman's home to question her about the incident. Once the woman opened her door, the officers could smell marijuana in her home. One officer found a glass pipe and what was suspected to be burnt marijuana inside.

The officers questioned the woman, who mentioned that two other men that both of the women knew were in a physical fight, which led to the women fighting.

Since no one in the woman's house claimed the glass pipe, it was confiscated.
