A man traveled to the Sheriff's House to create a burglary report on September 24th.

The man had been out of town but upon returning home, he saw that his front door had been cracked open and a chair had been pushed against it.

He also found a tie-dye shirt that did not belong to him in the house.

The man had one suspect that could have broken into his home since he was bragging about having his things earlier that day.

The tie-dye shirt was taken into custody to place in the evidence locker at the Chattooga County Sheriff's Office. 

A Chattooga County officer was called to Williams Cemetery Road after hearing a report of theft.

A woman's Beeman Airgun was taken from her.

The woman allowed a friend to borrow the Airgun, but had not received the Airgun or any explanation as to  where it might be.

The woman heard that the Airgun is still at her friend's house in Walker County. 

On September 23rd, Chattooga County deputies were dispatched to Hidden Brow Road in reference to a burglar alarm.

The deputies were able to inspect the house for any suspicious subjects. Although they did not find any burglars, the keyholder to the house arrived and they were able to inspect the interior of the home. Several blinds were pushed to the side and most windows were unlocked.

Several long bows were taken from the home. The owner claimed that they were around $50 each, but was not aware of how many they had altogether. 

On September 22nd, a Chattooga County deputy spoke with complainants about harassing phone calls.

The complainants included a mother and her friend. The two women had been experiencing harassing messages from one woman's ex-boyfriend. The ex-boyfriend became angry with the mother because their 15 year-old daughter wanted to spend time with her mother and her mother's friend rather than spend time with him.

One woman was able to capture some harassing messages through Facebook as evidence.

The woman were told how to handle harassing calls through the Magistrate's Office. 

A woman called Chattooga County officers on September 21st after discovering that her home on Chadler Road had been broken into.

 The woman told officers that she came home from a friend's house and discovered that her front door lock was unlocked. She said no one had entered the house because they could not get the deadbolt unlocked.

She also mentioned that someone had attempted to enter her mother's home, which was right next to her home. The attempted burglar tried to enter through her mother's back door, but it was wired shut from the inside.

The incident was handed to Investigators for further investigation.

On Monday, September 22nd, a Chattooga County officer traveled to Pecan Orchard Road in reference to a verbal domestic incident.

Other officers, and some from different areas, arrived at the scene as well. A woman told officers that her fiance, Morie Wells, had been in a verbal dispute which lasted throughout the day in regards to Mr. Wells seeing another woman. Mr. Wells' fiance also mentioned that Mr. Wells had been involved in another domestic argument earlier that day and had also damaged her car the same day.

Mr. Wells had allegedly taken a bicycle and crashed it through her car's windows.

After officers confronted Mr. Wells, he told them that his fiance was seeing another man, and that he had damaged her car. Mr. Wells could not provide a description or name to this man.

Mr. Wells was told that he was under arrest, and immediately began struggling with officers to try to avoid being handcuffed.

Eventually Mr. Wells was taken to the Chattooga County Jail to Criminal Damage to Property 2nd degree and four counts of Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers. 

On September 22, a Chattooga County officer was called to a home on Highway 114 in reference to damage to property.

A man told the officer that he caught his grandson trying to pry open a window at the back of his home. His grandson began yelling at him, so he told him to leave his property and not return.

He estimated the value of the damage to the window around $250.

On Saturday, September 20th, Chattooga County officers were called to Oak Hill Alpine Road in reference to a theft.

The homeowner told officers that when she arrived home around 7:00 pm, she noticed that her air conditioning and water were not working. After investigating further, she saw that parts to the air conditioning unit and the well pump were missing.

The homeowner did not have any suspects in mind that might have taken her property.

The next day, the homeowner had the amount of the missing items valued by a professional. The well pump was estimated around $600, and the air conditioning unit came out to be approximately $3000. 

On September 23rd, Chattooga County deputies were called to Carol Drive after hearing about a fight.

The officers were notified that Mr. Richard Stevens went to speak with Michael Moss about an incident that occurred earlier. Mr. Moss allegedly retrieved a tire iron from his trunk and approached Mr. Stevens angrily. Mr. Moss told officers that Mr. Stevens came towards him angrily and he only got the tire iron in defense.

Both Mr. Stevens and Mr. Moss were taken to Chattooga County Jail. 

A Chattooga County officer was called to Back Berryton Road on September 18th after receiving a report of harassment.

A woman told the officer that she had been receiving harassing telephone calls from her former boyfriend. She said that she had ended the relationship about two weeks ago and had told her ex-boyfriend several times to stop calling her. 

The officer explained the proper steps to the woman on how to handle the harassment with the Magistrate Court.
